Over the last fifteen years I have trained and been employed in a range of child and adolescent mental health services. Child and Family Psychology Service NHS Fife, Edinburgh Connect Service Lothian CAMHS, and Barnardo’s Fostering Service Edinburgh are the organisations I have been employed with.
I am passionate about my work with parents, carers and children and my aim is to provide online emotional support and strategies to parents at a time when they need it the most. I have an M.A. Honours Degree in Psychology and a MSc In Applied Psychology with Children and Adolescents facilitated through the NHS and The University of Edinburgh with a focus on cognitive behavioural therapy.
In 2019 I successfully completed an MSc in Play Therapy with a focus on psychodynamic theory and I am currently employed part-time as a BAPT registered Play Therapist with an inspirational Play Therapy Service.
If you feel emotional support for your child could be helpful to you this could be the right time to reach out and connect with someone who is able to provide professional advice in a non-judgemental and supportive way.

Family Well-Being Counts
Are you worried about your child’s emotional well-being or a change in behaviour?
Has an event or situation caused stress or anxiety in your child?
Do you wish the relationship you have with your child could be different?
It is a well-known fact that trying to work out what would be the best for your child can be a puzzle from the moment they are born to when they become a teenager.
Throughout the years different puzzles can arise at different times when some are harder to solve than others. If you are feeling emotionally overwhelmed at the moment because of this is perfectly normal and it is important to realise that solutions can be found.
I am here to listen to any concerns you have and explore ways to help your child at this time.
I offer a psychodynamic approach which focuses on your child in a holistic and relational based way. Emotional well-being is at the heart of my clinical practice and I believe parenting is one of the hardest yet one of the most rewarding jobs out there.
You deserve connection and reflection with someone who is professionally trained in both psychodynamic child centred and cognitive behavioural therapy. Someone who is able to listen and understand what you are going through right now.
You don’t need to feel alone or believe things can’t change. With the love and motivation you have for your child it is hopeful change can occur. A consultation provides psychological strategies which have been tried and tested with many families. These can be considered in a considerate way; the main aim being to decrease your worry, to increase your confidence, and provide emotional support for your child.
Main areas of experience include:
Trauma and Abuse
Anxiety, Fear, Stress, Anger
Bereavement, Divorce, Separation
How can consultations help?
The consultations provide a confidential space for you to express how you truly feel without judgement with a trained child and adolescent psychologist who understands. Ways can be explored and new paths taken to find the right direction to meet the individual needs of your child.
What to do next?
An initial free phone call :
From the comfort of your own home at a time when you will not be distracted or hassled in any way, I will phone you to make initial contact. I will let you know what to expect and if you decide the online service is right for you a consultation time and day can be arranged.
The consultation what you can expect:
I aim to provide a confidential time and space for you to feel supported and empowered with someone who will accept things as they are and won’t judge. The online consultations will be a time for you to think about and discuss important aspects of your child’s behaviour and emotional wellbeing. I will listen and provide you with theoretical based knowledge and strategies. I will ask you questions in order to get clarity on how to help you best. It will be up to you how you choose to answer the questions and you won’t feel pressurised to answer if you don’t wish to. In a zoom consultation I work with parents on a one-to-one basis and offer consultations to meet individual time constraints and needs.
